WATCH: The Elwins – “Ybor City”

If The Elwins are any indication, then our Canadian neighbors sure do love coming to Florida.  Case in point: This video of the Ontario-based four piece landed in our inbox yesterday and came with this message:

We thought, as this being our first time playing in Ybor City, that it would be cool to write a song and make a fun music video about it to help as an introduction to the city.

How sweet.  The clip tells their version of Ybor’s history (sample lyric: “…founded in the 1880s by dudes making stogeys…”) and is complete with vintage Cigar City backdrops.  Now, before you start to feel really special, do know that the boys have made videos for other cities like Houston, Athens, and even Orlando.  Still, the clip is pretty hilarious and makes us want to jet over to the Crowbar where the band will be opening for none other than Jukebox The Ghost tonight.

More information on that show is available at our calendar page, and The Elwins’ first full-length — And I Thank You — is streaming below.
