Walking by New World Brewery late on a Saturday night usually makes one wish that he/she had made it out to the show.  Just a few days ago – after Peter, Bjorn, and John tore it up at Czar – a walk past the brew pub yielded a glimpse into the waning moments of Tiny Riots’ set.  The Wisconsin-based outfit sounded good.

What we didn’t see or hear, however, was Joe McDaniel fronting his other band – Grand Manor.  (McDaniel also plays in local surf-ish, punk, rock outfit Creepers)  Thankfully the trusty ol’ interwebs are here to make sure we could relive at least part of the set via our WiFi connection.  Streaming above is a clip of the band closing their set with “Hightower,” a four-minute epic that opens with bright, high-volume, guitar line before being accented with the kind of thick, fuzzy tone we wish we could add to this cup of coffee.  In short, the song is badass, check it out.  It’s also streaming below and available for download, along with another demo, at Bandcamp.
