Adam Darski – known as Nergal in the internationally renown blackened death metal band Behemoth – spoke to the audience after a whirlwind of riffs and blast beats, his eyes alert and alive like that of a man made both feral and conscious by sound:

“It feels so good to be alive – it feels so damn good to be alive. You may think you know what this tour is about, but it is about triumph – keep marching on and never give up.” The words quaked like the shrieks and relentless snares that had battered eardrums throughout the night, but they defined the essence of the evening: one of empowerment and honest intensity.
