LOOK: Paul Baribeau, Super Bobby, Busman’s Holiday & Flashlights 05.06.12
Super Sunday at Transitions Art Gallery featuring Paul Baribeau, Super Bobby, Busman’s Holiday, and Flashlights. Sadly, I was running late so I missed out on both Orlando’s Flashlights and Indiana’s Busman’s Holiday. Both reportedly had great sets as people were buzzing about both when I arrived just in time for Super Bobby to take the stage (check out the photos here). (UPDATE: St. Pete Beat has sent in a sweet clip of Baribeau playing “Strawberry” at Transitions — check it out here.)
Then, Paul Baribeau took the stage and the crowd flocked toward the stage to sing their hearts out as Paul sang through a variety of songs from his songbook about love, loss, being awkward and the occasional nostalgia for a “normal” life. The gents from Bussman’s Holiday played with him on a few songs which was a nice addition to his set and created additional fun on-stage banter such as the discussion about Paul’s propensity for bartering using Chuck-E-Cheese as a basis. It’s always a pleasure to have Paul in Tampa. Hope to see him again soon!
