LOOK: A FLA weekend with Frank Turner (Pompano Beach Amphitheatre + The Ritz Ybor)
Frank Turner spent a splendid spring sojourn weekend in the Sunshine State opening for Boston-based punks, Dropkick Murphys. Of course, Frank delivered like any well-mannered Wessex boy should as did his band, the inimitable Sleeping Souls.

The Sleeping Souls are (clockwise) Nigel Powell (drums), Ben Lloyd (Guitar), Matt Nasir (Keys) and Tarrant Anderson (Bass)
As with every FTHC show I’ve been to, Frank adeptly converted casual observers to dedicated fans.

This was especially noticeable with the Dropkick Murphys’ crowd that started off being overtly anxious to get to the main attraction, but quickly changed their tune, singing their hearts out along with Frank to the chorus of Photosynthesis,
And I won’t sit down
And I won’t shut up
And most of all, I will not grow up,
followed by optimistic chanting, “One More Song! One More Song!” as Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls left the stage. Here’s hoping they’ll be back to see us sooner rather than later!
Somehow, some way, the powers that be kept Nicole from taking pictures at Frank Turner‘s Orlando, Fla. stop on Sunday night, but nevertheless, our elawgrrl was on hand at each and every Florida show, along with our good friends at The Ruckus, Melanie and Tiffiny (check out their roadtrip write-up here, their Vlog (that’s video blog to you) here and their show photos here). Nicole captured a slew of shots which she’s shared below.

[...] Then came Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls. I hadn’t had the opportunity to see Frank & Co. since October, which is pretty much years in Ruckus time. Frank Turner headline shows are pretty much my reason for living. An opening set isn’t quite the same, but it’s still not to be missed. Especially when one can be surrounded by the best company. There really is nothing like seeing a good show with a bunch of people who are just as excited and enthusiastic about the experience as you are. Our punx photographer soul mate, Nicole Kibert (the one and only elawgrrl) also drove down from the Tampa Bay area for the occasion (check out her coverage here). [...]
