It’s hard to believe that it has been a bit more than a year since Vélo Champ opened in Seminole Heights. Coming up on Thursday, May 17th, is the birthday party from 7pm – 11pm at the shop – check out more info on the SubAp! calender event here or the facebook event. There will be waffles, craft beer, soda and bicyclists portraits! As biking culture grows exponentially in Tampa Bay, it is apparent how personal the relationship is between a bicyclist and their bike. So, I’m embarking on a project to photograph Tampa Bay bicyclists with their bicycles. I plan to put a book together that will showcase these portraits and demonstrate the width and breadth of the Tampa Bay cycling and hopefully be useful as a tool as we continue to advocate for additional bike resources and safety measures.
