If you live in our area, then you are undoubtedly going to be restricted in your outdoor activities (thanks, Debby).  However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t have a good time.  That’s what TV Girl is for.

The SoCal-based duo are currently on tour in support of their debut mixtape The Wild, The Innocent, The TV Shuffle, and if you’ve had a longing for days gone by, then give the damn thing a spin.  The 15-track effort is a throwback to doo-wop and AM-radio sugary-sweet soul music.  If Tennis wasn’t built around a happily married couple, then they might sound like TV Girl.

The boys’ – Trung Ngo and Brad Petering – subject matter includes being worried about where the girl is (“I Wonder Who She’s Kissing Now”), lamenting on being alone (“Lonliness Can Be Demanding”), or contemplating the end of life (“All A Dream”), but the whole damn thing is soaked in a joyous blend of bright piano stabs, catchy drum programming, and pure-pop melody.  Hell there are even Elmo samples and touches of West Coast hip hop on the damn thing.
