If you haven’t grabbed a copy of Alexander & The Grapes‘ Hemispheres yet, then, well, for f—ing shame.  No worries though as we know times are hard, and if you simply don’t have the dinero to drop on the LP, then we don’t blame you.  Still, you should have The Grapes on your hard drives, so thank the boys at Grand National Championships for dragging frontman Alexander Charos & co. into WMNF’s Mike Eisenstadt  live music studio to record a GNC session featuring five of Hemispheres‘ best cuts (although all of them are mighty swell).

It’s a treat to hear songs like the intricately layered “Where I Go” essentially stripped down in an acoustic setting, but credit Alastair St. Hill and Dr. Chase Swan for faithfully replicating all of the warmth of Swan’s slide guitar onto the recording.  Have a listen to the entire session below and grab a free download of the whole shebang at Bandcamp.
