A magnificent music Monday featuring Cory Branan, Jon Snodgrass and Matt Burke of Have Gun, Will Travel on New World Brewery‘s patio in Ybor City, Tampa, FL – February 18, 2013. It’s shows like this that affirm my faith in the power of live music. Thanks to Jack of Aesthticized for bringing this show to Tampa Music!
First of all, how else are you going to be able to witness a new hit being born like this moment with Jon Snodgrass aka THE Dancer on the spot debuting “Friend of a Dancer”?
Or learn that Cory is an elephant whisperer?
Kicking off the evening was Have Gun, Will Travel’s Matt Burke with a delightful mix of tunes from the Have Gun, Will Travel vault. Be sure to get to New World on Saturday, March 2nd to see Have Gun, Will Travel and Whiskey Gentry.

Cory Branan & Jon Snodgrass
Cory & Jon are both extremely talented troubadours and something extraordinary happens when they collaborate together on stage – part vaudeville, part revival – 100% awesome. On this night, they played for about 2 hours trading off turns and joining in on each other’s songs.
Cory is working on a new record as a follow-up to his Bloodshot Records debut, Mutt, which made my best of 2012 list. Cory played a couple new songs and they had an extra noticeable dash of sweetness to reflect his current domestic bliss. I can’t wait to hear more!
Check out photos of Cory here. And, watch Cory perform Walk Around with Jon Snodgrass and discuss his soul train history:
Jon hasn’t been to Florida in a long time – too long – so we were so happy to have him back on the patio. He’s working on new material too and enjoying being a family man and new daddy. Good stuff. In addition, Jon is now adding impromptu twitter update songs to the end of his set… Thanks to Jenny Johnson for regularly providing excellent material.
