King of Spain, MRENC announce limited edition split cassette. Yes, a cassette.

Cassettes.  Most of us are old enough to remember them, but we’re willing to bet that more than a handful of you haven’t played one in a long, long time.  No worries though as New Granada Records has just announced that they will be giving you the opportunity to get reacquainted with the format when they release a split cassette tape featuring tracks from King of Spain and MRENC.

A press release says that the cassette will be limited to just 100 hand-numbered copies and will include a code for an MP3 download.  If you just can’t figure our what the hell a “cassette” is, then 100 CD-R with matching packaging will also be available for your consumption.

MRENC has posted their contribution to the split on their Bandcamp page, and residents of Lakeland will have the first crack at the release when both bands hit Evolution Records on May 6.  Tampons get sloppy seconds on May 8th when the boys hit New World Brewery.  The cassette can now be ordered for just $5 on New Granada’s website, and a special combo package which gets you both cassette and CD version is available for just 32 quarters.

A full tracklist is available below, and photos from King of Spain’s last performance at New World can be seen here.
