A month removed from announcing that the festival would be expanding to two days, the folks at Gasparilla Music Fest have revealed a handful or names that will make up the almost fifty bands set to fill Curtis Hixon Park with music on March 8-9, 2014.
Legendary Oklahoma freak rockers The Flaming Lips (who are making their first appearance in the Bay area since a Jannus Landing show four years ago) lead the charge and are joined by Brooklyn’s Delta Spirit, Grammy-winning Venezuelan collective Los Amigos Invisibles, New Orleans-based singer-songwriter Anders Osborne, and former Drive By Truckers guitarist Jason Isbell.
Two-day tickets to the festival are still priced at $40, but will be raised to $60 at a later date. VIP tickets, which include special viewing areas, VIP bars, lounges and bathrooms, plus DJs and three free drinks, are available for $150. The festival has pointed out that VIP tickets have sold out the last two years.
Festival goers can pick up tickets at GMF’s official website or in person at Duckweed Urban Market, Microgroove, Daddy Kool Records, Mojo Books & Music, The Hub, and KT Janes. More information on the festival is available here. Get your tickets here. See a poster below.
