Music may be the universal language, but that doesn’t mean it should all sound the same. There are a lot of people speaking the language of music, but most of them don’t really have anything new to say.
Lingo is different. This is a band with their own secret language, as their name would indicate. There are familiar components, to be sure—ripping guitar solos that evoke the Allman Brothers, African and Latin grooves, jazz and funk, soulful vocals, thoughtful lyrics. Still, the result is unlike anything else out there, and if you open your ears wide enough, you can tell Lingo has something to say.
Like some hip new street slang that hasn’t hit the mainstream yet, Lingo is currently one of the best-kept secrets in music, but their tribe is growing. This new sound speaks from the heart and reaches the soul, once you learn the secret language.

Friends of Fil has been the name of many great ensembles over he past 12 years in the Asheville, Nc and Tampa, Fl area, and everywhere in beteween!
The band has centered around Fil Pate, a multi instrumentalist and songwriter who simply forms bands with many of his musical friends!
The Music over the years has been original in nature and is written around a feelgood vibe and presented in many ways in hopes of stirring up some dancers and more importantly provoking thought.
Currently the core group is Albert ” Newbeat” Warren on drums, and Daniel Navarro on 5 string bass, and Fil Pate on guitar and mandolin, as well as many awesome Tampa bay area musicians who sit in and lend some notes!
Now after studying jazz music intensely for the past few years, FoF has merged the original tunes with some choice jazz and funk standards to create a great platform for the area’s best soloists to come get down! The elements of jazz are apparent as each member takes extended solos and brings the audience along on a nice musical journey!
